Today we rolled out a new design for YoungPhoenix.com. I wanted to take the site in a different direction so I had pops customize the Atahualpa theme to give it a sleek, minimalist feel. Hopefully, it will make it easier for fans to navigate and for me to maintain.
All the music now appears on the front page, so you don’t have to search. For those of you who aren’t already fans, followers or subscribers, we threw some Web 2.0 social media buttons in the header for easy access (that’s your cue). We also added an image slider (I know…it’s time for another photo shoot).
The YP logo is temporary… I’m hoping one of you super-talented graphic artists will bless me with something official in exchange for some heavy promo or a theme song for your site. Holla at me and we’ll work something out.
I’m debating over whether or not to keep this site advertisement-free (is it still a debate if you on both sides of the argument?). Not that I couldn’t use the extra guap, but it’s almost like putting bumper stickers on a Bentley…lol. We’ll see how it goes.
Last but not least, I’m taking the site in another direction. It’s all YP, all the time! No more general news items and random hip-hop BS. The focus of this blog will be my personal journey in hip-hop–the good and the bad, ups and downs. It all begins right here and right now.
In the meantime, take a look around the site and let me know what you think. Be sure to check out the new music I posted on the home page and my updated bio. I’ll be back with a vengeance in a few days.
Peace
